The Joys of Parenthood

Hello Everybody!

This month Dolce Stamps and Cards Online Store is featuring Local Rubber King Stamps.

I found a tutorial for a Center Step Card.......Here , and decided to give it a try.  I scaled the size down to a

5 1/2 by 4 1/4 card base.

This sweet mother and baby giraffe image is from the set called Love Reaches New Heights  I just had to

have this stamp!  I stamped it twice with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and cut the mother out and popped her

up for added dimension.  The side panels are embossed with the Dots Sizzex embossing folder.  I die cut 2

of the smallest stars from Spellbinders Stars and embellished the with some buttons and blue gingham ribbon

to frame the sentiment.  Be sure and stop by the Dolce Stamps and Cards Blog and see what the rest of the

Design Team  has created.

Spirit of the Wolf Brayering Tutorial

Happy Tuesday Everybody!

This month Dolce Stamps and Cards is featuring  Local Rubber King Stamps. I was already familiar with Local rubber King Stamps, even already had a few in my stash.  These are deeply etched Red Rubber Stamps and cling mount. LOVE THEM!

If you would like some of these fabulous stamps you can find these and many more at The Dolce Stamps and Cards Store.

Be sure and stop by The Dolce Stamps and Cards Blog and  see what the rest of the Dolce Design Team has come up with.  My Dolce Sisters are so incredibly talented!!!

This is a very easy card to do, especially for Beginner Brayers!

Tittle: Spirit of the Wolf
Designer: Ellen Taylor
Keywords: Local Rubber King Stamps, Dolce
Category: Animals, Nature
Stamps: Local Rubber King Stamps~Wolves, Tree 3
Ink: Adirondack Denim and Cloudy Blue, Memento Tuxedo Black, Black Marker, Versamark, Stazon, Dove Gray
Embellishments: Brads
Tools: Heat Tool, Brayer, Silver Embossing Powder, Sponge, EK Success 3D Dots, Spellbinders Circles
Paper: Navy, Black, White, Silver Mirror Paper

I love to use my brayer! A quick way to make a card with amazing results!  Would you like to know how to make this card?

I thought so....I started by brayering Cloudy Blue ink 1/3 of the way down. To create the moon use a  Spellbinders circle die cut over the card stock to create a mask. Then brayer Denim ink over top of the circle. Remove the circle and stamp the wolf inside the moon in gray. Stamp the trees in black ( Twice on the left side and on the right side I just turned the same tree stamp  90 degrees and stamped it.) Stamp the silhouette wolves  where you would like the ground to be in black. I didn't here but sometimes  I want a taller tree and just extend the trunk  with a black marker. This type of inking is very forgiving~you just can't go wrong! Next using a pouncing motion, sponge black ink  from the bottom up to cover the feet of the wolves. To create grass just use your black marker and randomly flick upward with a light hand. Emboss the sentiment and pop the 2 top layers up with 3D dots. Add some brads in the  corner and you  are done. I sure hope you give it a try!

Hope my babble makes sense!!

Music Collage

Hello Blogland Friends!

Last night my girlfriend Deb came by, needing a music thank you card. She brought these wonderful stamps to use. This is a 10 minute card....my late night favorite!

How to do this image.......

~Emboss your image in black.
~Sponge Yellow ink in the center
~Sponge Blue ink overlapping  the yellow a little. This is the fun part.... where the blue and yellow overlap, magically you get green. Doesn't this just take you back to the basics of kindergarten~LOL
~ I sponged  a darker blue on the two corners for a deeper look.
Sorry, I don't know who makes these stamps, apparently they were a garage sale find.

Have a fabulous day everybody and thanks for stopping by!

JustRite Bird House Note Book

Hello Everybody!
It has been such a busy summer that I have not had much crafting or computer time. I did manage to find some time to do a little creating. Over at Dolce Stamps and Cards we are playing with JustRite Stamps this month. The Dolce  Girls have been cooking up some fabulously inspiring projects!!

I love to alter things, especially practical things and since my memory has gone the wayside, I always keep a notebook in my purse. I can usually find some inexpensive ones at the dollar store to alter.
These JustRite Birdhouse Set were just the right size to embellish the front of a notebook! Very versatile stamps! I stamped the image in Black Stazon (so the ink won't run when I water color) and  water colored the image with marker, by scribbling on an acrylic block and picking up the ink with a water pen. I layered the image on a couple of complimentary Spellbinders Dies. I threaded some ribbon through the holes in the Lacey Oval. I cut my sentiment out the the Spellbinders die that comes in the JustRite Tag Making Set. Sponged everything in Memento Rich Cocoa, except the Green is sponged with Ranger's Pine Needles. I colored over the stars with a Sakura Glaze pen. This was finished off with some Kaiser Rhinestones. Whenever I create something that needs to be sturdy, I always use Score Tape. I find it is the best adhesive  to keep my projects together.

Stamps~ All Stamps byJustRite~ Birdhouses Set, Just Because Set, Tag Making Kit
Ink~ Stazon Black, Memento Rich Cocoa, Ranger's Distress Ink- Pine Needles, Markers
Embellishments~  Kaiser Rhinestones, White Ribbon, Sakura Glaze Pen, White Ribbon

JustRite Christmas Birthday Card

Hello Everybody!

This card was designed for Dolce Stamps and Cards. This month we are featuring JustRite Stamps and I am really enjoying them!

This is a quick simple card to make! This image reminded me of Christmas and how I always scramble in December to make a birthday card for my friend who has a birthday right before Christmas. Now I won't be scrambling this year!!

I colored the image by scribbling with a marker on an acrylic block and picking up the ink with a blender Pen. I do this when I don't have all the colors in ink pads I want to use. I added Stardust stickles to the pine cones and some Xmas Red Stickles to the heart on the birdhouse and the berries. The circles were cut with Spellbinders Circles. The main image was popped up with some EK 3D Dots. Keeping this card very simple I only embossing one layer with the Sizzix Damask Embossing Folder and added some Nail Heads in the corners and 2 small red bows. It feels good to get ahead of the December cards!
