Fall Leaf Tutorial and Dolce Challenge

On to how I made my card....

I started with this sweet image from ART IMPRESSIONS, from the GOLDEN OLDIES  series called FRED & MILLIE. I  stamped it it Memento Tuxedo Black on Classic Crest Paper and colored it with Copics and then layered it on a Spellbinders Rectangle. I sponged the edges with Rangers Distress Inks, Antique Linen and Vintage Photo. All white pieces of this card is sponged in the same way.

I layered it on a Spellbinders Labels 15 and sponged it the same as the image and ser it aside.

For the card base I started with some brown cardstock and layered a sponged white squzre 1/8 of an inch smaller than the base. The next layer is a dark green cardstock that was stamped using the Impression Obsession Cover a Card~Maple Leaves in Versamark and clear embossed. I sponged the edges in Memento Cottage Ivy. 

For the band across I punched the edge of some brown cardstock with Ek Success's Engish Ivy Punch. I layered a white piece and sponged the edges. I wrapped some brown satin ribbon and some linen thread around it.  Adher eall your layers together..

Time to make some leaves. Here is how to make them. Sorry for the bad photos, it's pretty hard to take the photos yourself in the middle of the night, and after a glass of wine~LOL

I stamped the IO Maple Leaves in Tuxedo Memento Black. Starting with the lightest color sponge some yellow green and red ink random spots over the leaves.  I used Memento Cantelope, Cottage Ivy and Lady Bug Red.

                                                    Cut out your leaves.

                                           Apply Versamark directly to the leaves.

                                      

                                   Cover with Clear Embossing powder~Be Creative Tweezers  help!  I threw out all of my other crafting tweezers after finding these amazing tweezers!!

 

                    Heat Emboss them and you are done making leaves. I love how the color becomes more intense when embossed!

Then I arranged the leaves to frame my image, popping some up with EK Success 3D Dots. The tag with the is from the JustRite Happy Every Thing Mini Tag Making Kit   It was finished it of with a small linen thread bow and voila.... done.

IO Purple Challenge

 Hello Stampers!

Today I have a fun and colorful card to share with you.  You might have heard me say that Impression Obsession is my new favorite stamp line. So, when I received these fab Impression Obsession Stamps  from Dolce Stamps and Cards I couldn't wait to show them some ink.



This card has lots of color and dimension.  I will be entering it in the Impression Obsession Purple Challenge. Thanks to my friend Emily for pointing out the IO challenges and encouraging me to enter my cards!!

 

~I stamped this  gorgeous Goldfish-F2328 in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with Prisma Colored Pencils and Gamsol.   I went over it with a Versamarker Pen and fussy cut it out. I don't recommend doing this after a glass of wine~LOL. Set it aside.

~Using a Mega Mount Block, I stamped the Cover a Card- Bubbles-CC026 in Versamark and Clear embossed it. I love the Mega Mount....I get a clear impression EVERY TIME!!  Then sponged Adirondack Aqua Ink over the bubbles for a very subltle background and set it aside.

~ I created a window using a Spellbinders Labels 8 out of a dark purple layer.  Save the Labels 8 for a future project.


~I hand cut some ocean grass out of green scraps and punched some leaves. Sponged the greenery with Memento Cottage Ivy Ink and adhered the with score tape at the back side of the window.

~I punched a border  using Scalloped Scallops EK Success Border punch a fancy doo-dad from Spellbinders Parisian Accents  and sponged them with Adirondack Eggplant.

~I sponged a tag from Spellbinders Ribbon Trio with Memento Lavender and Adirondack Aqua. Stamped Best Fishes- A5450 and threaded some turqouise  ribbon through it and popped up the tag with 3D Dots.

~I used 3D Dots all arount the back side of the purple panel and layered it on the white bubble panel.

~ I took the Golfish and glued some parts down and popped parts of him up trying to make it look like he is swimming out of the grasses.

~I addes some Rain Dots for air bubbles and some Pearls to finish it off.

Halloween Faux Stitching~DSAC03

Here is my project........

I needed a box for a small Halloween gift.  This boxes finished size is a 4-1/8" square and is 2" tall.
Be sure and scroll all the way down, as I am sharing the measurements with you. Whenever I put any 3D project tohether I always use Score Tape so that it doesnt fall apart. the next best thing to Duct Tape!

I used the fun little OWL IN TREE by CRACKERBOX PALACE Stamp.  I Stamped it with Black Soot Distress Ink and clear embossed it.

I then colored it the image with  Copic Markers (SUPER DUPER cheap in the Dolce Online Store ). I used YOOO, Y32, Y35, Y38 and E27. I clear embossed over the entire image.  Tip~ Embossed images are easier to cut out.  I fussy cut it out using my Judikin's Fine Detail Scissors and glued the image down with Tombow Glue.  I stamped the owl again, colored and embossed him, so I could pop him up.  I layered a ribbon rose, crinkled & sponged  leaves and some Black Satin and Organza ribbon for an embellishment.

This fun Designer Paper is Graphic 45's The Magic of Oz. I cut the sentiment out of one of the pages and used this fun spiderweb  paper from the same pack. I added some Inkssentials Black Enamel in the corners of the sentiment.

I pierced all around all of the panels of the Designer Paper and ran my Inkssentials White Opaque Gel pen over the holes.  I aways try to make my Faux Stiching imperfect, that way when I give a card or 3d project they will think I really TRIED to sew.....those that know me, know that when I try, it looks like a small child trying to earn a Brownie Badge did it~LOL  Once my box was completed I adhered 4 black beads to the bottom corners with Diamond Glaze for it to stand on.
