Center Step Card Challenge DSAC06

Salutations and Felicitations, Dear Readers!

 It's time for another Dolce Stamps and Cards Challenge! This weeks challenge is brought to

you by the very talented Edna.  Edna is challenging everybody to make a Center Step Card.

 You can find Frances Byrne's directions to make one on Splitcoaststampers, found.......Here. They look pretty fancy schmacy but are so easy to make!!  We would love it if you played along with us!! On to my card......

~I started with Impression Obsession's- Hanging Tree Bulb and I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black on Classic Crest paper. I colored the image with Copics......G24, G29, BG0000, BG10, and 0. I added snow with Copic Opaque White using a small paint brush.  You can't see it in the photo but I added a smidge of Glitter Ritz glitter to the snow for a subtle sparkle. I covered the image with Versamark and Clear Embossed it for a nice shiny glassy look and it was ready to be cut out.  I stamped it again on a scrap of  Silver Mirror paper and cut the ornament cap out and pieced it on the image.

~I embossed my sentiment using Impression Obsessions -Believe in Judikin's Detail Silver Embossing Powder and hand cut it to fit inside my frame.

~The white panels were embossed with the Sizzix Snowflakes #9 Embossing folder. I attached some ribbon to the white panel and popped the ornament up.  The frame was made by placing two Spellbinders Dies on a piece of Navy card stock and running it through the machine at the same time. It was popped up with Ek Success 3D Dots. The frame was too plain and boring, so I pulled out the Nestabling made by Want to Scrap.  I love these because they coordinate with Spellbinders dies! Who doesn't love a little sparkle!!

~ I used the scraps of Silver Mirror Paper and punched out the snowflakes with  Ek Success Snowflake Border Punch. I didn't want the borders, just the PUNCH JUNK (the part you are supposed to put in the garbage). I added 3 snowflakes on the bottom panel and I adhered the ribbon onto the ornament. To finish them off, I added Kaiser Rhinestones.  It is so incredibly hard to photograph Mirror Paper!! It is plain silver mirror paper and has no pink in it. The pink is actually the reflection of my very loud pink shirt.  My photography skills are in the same place as my computer skills....not with me!

Make Your Own Designer Paper Dolce Challenge

Hello Friends!

It's time for another Dolce Stamps and Cards Design Team Challenge!   This weeks challenge is brought to you by Charlene.  

She has challenged us ....... to make your own designer paper....... you must use at least part of your featured stamp but can use the whole thing too.  The keyword is DSAC05, when uploading to your blog or online gallery.   Be sure and read the challenge rules on the left side bar on the Dolce Stamps amd Cards Blog for a chance to win a $10.00 gift certificate to the Dolce Stamps and Cards Online Store, where you  can find all sorts of well priced stampin' goodies!  As well as this fab badge for your blog......

        

I used the Faux Silk technique to make my paper.

~I stamped this adorable Snow Baby from Impression Obsession on tissue paper with Memento Tuxedo Black 

~Crinkled the tissue up into a ball and smoothed it out, leaving small wrinkles in it.

~Carefully layed it over a piece of card stock that had be covered with a sheet of Scoretape.


~Trimmed the edges and colored with Copics ! EASY Peasy


~ For the outside edge of my homade paper I used the EK Success Snowflake Border Punch......the Punch Junk that is... the part normal people throw in the garbage and glued it around the edges.


For my main image.....

~I stamped the Snow Baby in the Snow Globe (both from Impression obsession) and colored it with Copics.


~ I added a snowflake to the base and Elizabeth Craft Glitter Ritz to the to inside of the snow globe and and covered it with a thick coat of Judikin's Diamond Glaze.




~I layered a Spellbinders Label 16 and Floral Doily motifs, that had been sponged with Memento Summer Sky and Danube Blue  Wrapped silver elastic cord around them and added Kaiser Rhinestones.  Popped my image up on Ek Success 3D Dots.

Extra Layer Spellbinder Tutorial and IO Snow Family

Today's card was made for the Impression Obsession Snow Much Fun Challenge
They are challenging you to make a card reflecting what you like to do on a Snow Day.  I chose to use this Super Adorable stamp called Snow Family-#J6183 . I received this stamp from Dolce stamps and Cards  where they have a fantasic variety of Impression Obsession Stamps...Did I mention it was my favorite Stamp Line? I love their Snowmen Stamps!!  I kept the card rather simple to showcase this fantastic image.


~I stamped the Snow Family in Tuxedo Memento Black and colored it with Copics.

How to make the extra mat......
~Cut out your image with the largest die from Spellbinders Labels Fifteen.  I wanted to mat the image on a larger mat the same shape and didn't have one.  So this is how you get more bang for your buck with your Spellbinders dies......it's like getting twice as many dies in one package this way.....



 

Trace around the outside of the die , using the back of your card stock. I moved the die over a tad so you can see the lines.

Cut it out.

Adhere image over mat. I popped it up with Ek 3D Dots.

Easy Peasy eh!


~I used white card stock and embossed a square with Sizzix Tim Holtz Swirls Embossing folder and cut it in half diagonally.

~Cut a square of  Silver Mirror paper and cut it diagonally as well.

~Adhere the two triangles over a square piece of card stock the same size square.  Use the left over triangles for another card.

~Attach 3 stands of siver ribbon over this piece of cardstock and pop it up over the card base.

~Pop your image up with 3D Dots.

~Punched 2 EK Success Garland Punch, one in white and one in silver. Attach together with 3D Dots and add 1 Silver CARD CANDY in the center,

Very simple card to make!
