Rubbernecker Scrapbook Pages

Hello Everybody!

Here is a couple of Scrapbook Pages  that I made today.  I have been playing with some Rubbernecker 2012 New Releases.  This first page I used Imagine Collage 621-02 and Floral Collage Corner 621-04. I love how these coordinate! I added a Journal Box called Journal Memories 601-01. I added some blue stickles, some buttons and Cappuccino Twine from The Twinery.

I used Rubbernecker's  Butterfly Flourish 609-06, Journals Flourish Circle 603-02, Cats Set 597 and created my title using Book Antique Alphabet Set 612. I love using stamps to create my patterned paper and embellishments!  Anything to save money!

 On to my card......
I just love the smell of petunias!! They take a lot of WATER (my word)over the summer but sooo worth it! I can't wait to go to the greenhouse and get some pretty pink petunias to plant in my garden!  Until then I will have just color them.

I stamped Rubbernecker's Petunias Sku:537-09 with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with Copics.  Die cut it with a Spellbinders Oval and sponged it with Memento Angel Pink while it was still in the die. I popped it up on a Spellbinders Beaded Oval that was sponged with with Angel Pink as well. I stamped a second petunia and cut on out and popped it up.

The background was created with the Faux Letter Press Technique by rubbing a Memento Angel Pink directly on the negative side of an  embossing folder. I used one from Sizzix's Sugar and Starry Night set.  What a beautiful background this technique creates!!  A Recollections Pearl Flourish  and some pink satin ribbon were added.  I layered it on a white card stock mat and popped up on a pink card base.

Rubbernecker's Petunia Sku:537-09

One Layer Wedding Card

Today the Splitcoaststamper's  CAS 169 Challenge is " It's Time to be Chic". 
I have always struggled with clean and simple, frightened by all that white space but was inspired by this challenge.  Such a quick and simple card to make!!

~Dry emboss a white card base with Sizzix'z Corner's Flourish.

~Using Versafine Onyx Black stamp Rubbernecker's Flourish #1 sku 611-01 and a sentiment from Rubbernecker's Best Wishes Sku:600. Emboss them with clear embossing powder.

~Emboss 2 butterflies from Rubbernecker's Butterfly Inchies sku:427 and cut them out. Attach them with glue dots. Add a tiny rhinestone to each butterfly.

~ Add some pearls.

I just might try more clean and simple cards.

Emboss Resist and Sponged Background Tutorial

I received some new Release images from Rubbernecker Stamps and was very inspired. So today I have a little Emboss Resist and Sponged Background pictorial to share with you today.......

I always have copy paper under  my card stock to avoid a messy clean up.  Sponge Memento Dandelion ink in the center of the card stock.  Always start out sponging lightly and then go heavier.  You can always add more ink.  Don't worry about it being pretty yet....

Sponged Memento Cantaloupe, from the outside in.  You can go over the Dandelion but don't cover it completely.........

 Add Memento Tangelo, sponging from the outside edges in, making sure you do not completely cover the Cantaloupe.......

Sponged Memento Lady Bug ink just around the edges.......

If I want to emboss on card stock that has been sponged or brayered, I always heat set it with my heat tool.  I do this because if the ink is a little bit wet still, the embossing powder might stick in some spots that I don't want to emboss. Sorry, no photo of this.

I inked up my Rubbernecker's Spring Glory stamp sku:601-01 and a sentiment from Rubbernecker's Best Wishes Set sku:600 with Versamark and embossed them with White Embossing Powder.......

Stamped Rubbernecker's Flourish #2  sku 611-02 with Memento Tangelo and stamped it on the right side twice, making sure to stamp over the edge of the card stock, to achieve a flowing look.......

With Memento ink stamp Rubbernecker's Flourish 30-08 on the left side over top of your white embossed image and again just stamping a partial image just a little higher..........

This step is very important, so you don't smear ink where to don't want it!!!  Take a paper towel and gently rub away the ink that is sitting on top of the white embossed image. Now it appears as though the red flourish is behind the embossed flowers!  Easy Peasy! No Photo.

I added some punched MS butterflies that had been sponged with the same Memento inks, some rhinestones and pearls and 3 pieces of scrap ribbon to the edge. All it needed was Stardust Stickles butterfly trails.

Stampin' Sisterhood Challenge~SS17

Hello Friends!

It's time for another Stampin' Sisterhood Challenge!  

Our challenges are now monthly, so you have lots of time to play along. There are two ways you could win an awesome Rubbernecker stamp set of your choice. To find out how to play and see how to win.....just pop over to the Stampin' Sisterhood Blog.  

This months challenge-SS17 is a sketch challenge.  I love this sketch!!  So many things you could do with it!

I received some brand new rubbah from Mr. Rubbernecker.  There are lots of Rubbernecker New Releases!!  There are some new stamps that are great for Scrap booking too!  Today I am using Rubbernecker's Floral's #4 Sku:609-01, a gorgeous Wildflower silhouette, to make my card.

I decided to go back to a beginner technique to create my card.  Stamping with Markers is a quick and easy way to get different colors on a stamped image.

 

 It's quite simple really. All you do is turn your stamp over and color with your marker directly onto the rubber.  I use the brush end of the marker and color the areas that I want. It's best to use the side of the tip so you don't ruin the tip.  Here the stems and leaves are being colored green.  I used a blue marker to color the flowers.  You could use a few shades of whatever color you are using to create shadows, today I used only one shade of each color.  If your ink has dried a bit, just bring the stamp up close to your mouth and "huff" on it and your breath will moisten the ink again.  Stamp it on your card stock.  Today I used the whole image, however this is a great technique when you have a stamp that you only want to use part of the image.  Easy Peasy!! 

I stamped 3 images and die cut them with Spellbinders Long Classic Rectangles and popped them up on Long Classic Scalloped Rectangles.  Again popping them up on the card. 

 I added some Stardust Stickles  to the blue flowers, doesn't it give it a total sparklicious look!  I also Stickled around the Scalloped Rectangles and around the bottom of the sentiment.  You can add Stickles anytime as long as you wait for it to dry, which doesn't take very long!

This beautiful scripted sentiment is from a brand new Rubbernecker set called Best Wishes Set Sku:600.  There are 20 sentiments in it and I know it is going to be a go to set!!  I stamped it on the bottom of my card stock and layered some Maya Road Lace and some Micheal's ribbon, adhering it with Scor-tape.

I added some Stardust Stickles around the Scalloped Rectangles and around the bottom of the sentiment.

I am entering this in the CCEE Stampers CCEE1218 , where the challenge is to use gingham.

CAS Wedding Card

Hello Friends!

 I needed to make a wedding card and Rubbernecker's Hawiian Vine 537-12
was still on my desk, just calling out to be inked up again!  I usually have a hard time making CAS (clean and simple ) cards, but this came together so quickly.  You have to love it when that happens!

 I stamped it on Shimmery White card stock with Versafine Black Onyx and Clear Embossed it.  I love this ink, it's my favorite embossing ink right now.

 I stamped it again on some scrap Shimmery Card stock and cut the flowers out and popped them up with 3D Dots turning them just a bit to give the effect of a second layer of petals. Added some Rhinestones and some MS punched butterflies with some tiny pearls to them.

I stamped and embossed Rubbernecker's Possibilities Text SKU: 1577-SO  in the same way as the vine.  Added some white satin ribbon and this gorgeous Pin and Bling Button from CTMH.

I popped the image panel up the 3D Dots on the card base.

For such a special occasion, the inside should be pretty too!  Here is the inside of the card...

QFTD108- Hawiian Vine

My fellow Design Team Sister from Stampin' Sisterhood Charlene aka LilLuvsStampin', was crowned Queen for a Queen For the Day a couple of weeks ago.  Such a deserving and talented stamper!! Unfortunately I was painting my house and didn't get a chance to make a card to honor her until now.  A belated congratulations Charlene!!!!  I chose this card to case.

I used the same Rubbernecker Stamps but changed the following....
Stamped in the opposite corner.
Used a different sentiment from the same stamp set.
Used different paper.
Inked the center of the flowers and added rhinestones.
Added some MS butterflies with tiny pearls.
Added an extra layer for the image.
Added some grosgrain ribbon.

A Retreat Make and Take

Hello Friends!

I have been busy getting ready for the Pampered Crafters Sorority retreat.  Here is one of the 10 make and takes the ladies get to make...

   This is a 5x7 journal from Micheals, that I bought from the $1.50 bin.  By the time I was done I had a gift for under $2.00.  I was inspired by a book box that I had seen while I was at Micheals. 


I stamped Rubbernecker's Dandelion Border 540-02 and just one of the butterflies from Rubbernecker's Butterflies are Free Set with Versafine Onyx Black and Clear Embossed them. I stamped them again scrap paper and and cut them out to create a mask.  Then I inked up Rubbernecker's French Script Background and Rubbernecker's Flourish 30-08-SKU:530-03 and clear embossed them too.  The Dandelions and Butterflies were colored using a Fantastix  with Memento London Gray, Angel Pink and Rose Bud. Added a little Stardust Stickles and some Rhinestones. This photo was taken before the rhinestones were added.

 The spine was Stamped with the Flourish as well and embossed with white embossing powder.  Before I adhered it all together I put a strip of Scor-tape along the spine and added a piece of ribbon for a book mark.  I used Scor-tape to adhere it all together.  Hope the Retreat ladies like it too!

 The Stampin' Sisterhood has a Garden Hop coming up. Check back on May 19th for some really inspiring projects!
