I have been busy today creating a few Scrapbook pages with Rubbernecker Stamps and being inspired by the challenges for the Spiltcoaststampers Fan Club Challenges.

 This first one is photos of my crafty Seattle Pals. Top picture is Sandra, Emily (M) aka Emily (M) aka Stamp Muse, me, and Betsy.  Bottom pictures are Emily again with Judy aka jaydekay, Cindy aka YLM with Heather aka Princessheather and them myself and Betsy again.  I am so hoping to get to Seattle again for another week of craftiness! My mojo could really use it!


This is a Scrapbook page of my little niece Stella, who is a bundle of life and energy!

This was a quick page to put together! I usually to incorporate my stamps to make me own paper.  So much more economical!!

A Queen, A Dirty Challenge and Blog Candy to Give Away

This weeks QUEEN on Splitcoaststampers is none other than Bev Gerard aka texasgrammy one of my talented  Rubbernecker Sister's, so I had to take the time to honor her and make a card.  To my pleasant surprise I saw that the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges are on so I had to play too!
 I loved Bev's Grandpa card and you just can't have to many masculine cards on hand so I chose this card to case.......Here


All of the stamps I used on this card is from Rubbernecker Stamps. I stamped Grandpa w/ Fishing Pole on Kraft paper with Versafine Onyx Black and clear embossed it. I colored him using Brushstix by Tsukineko. I had not used these before and absolutely love them for coloring! I know I colored out of the lines but I am covering it up with my sentiment~ Quite often that is how I decide placements of embellishments and sentiments~LOL.  I colored his shirt with Broken China Distress Ink, his skin with Memento Desert Sand, and Aged Mahogany for his fishing basket.  I  stamped and embossed the fish from The Rod and Fish Set on the image panel  to hang the fish from his rod. using a stamp-a-ma-jig. I did it again on scrap paper and colored them with Spun Sugar and Peeled Paint distress inks and cut them out and pieced them on the panel.

I stamped the largest Cat tail from the Cat Tails set with Vintage Photo Distress Inks on Kraft paper for the panel under the main image.  I sponged all of the card stock with Vintage Photo with a heavy hand and added dots with a Brown Marker. the sentiment is Rubbernecker's Old Fisherman  and I used a 7 Gypsies Clip on it, I wrapped black hemp twine around the largest panel and adhered it with Scor-Tape.

Today's CAS 179 Challenge on SCS is to use twine.  I needed a birthday card for my little friend Cobie who is turning 11.  He loves lego and  his dream is to go to Lego Land.  I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest a while back.   I sponged  the edges of all the colored card stock for some extra oomph.  I am sure Cobie will be  tickled with his punch art lego!

This is Cobie in Paper Crafting class at school helping clean up after making Mother's Day cards~LOL  Yes, I get by with a little help from my friends!!

Distress Inks Reference Tags

Just thought I would share an organizational tool that I use to choose the colors that I use on a project.  I make these for all the ink lines I use.  This is my Rangers Distress Inks Color Chart.  I have a tag for each color ink on a ring.  I sponge the whole tag from and back and stamp on it with the same color.  On the back of the tag I write the name of the color of ink with the coordinating marker.  This way I see the true colors of the ink.  I can also fan it out and choose my color combos much more effectively.

The gorgeous stamp I used for this ink tag ring is Rubbernecker's Wild Garden Corner Sku:539-05. The stamp is much bigger than my small tags so I only used part of the image for each tag.

Partial Background Stamping Tutorial

Sometimes I don't want a solid background image, so your eye is drawn to the sentiment or another focal point.  Here is the super simple way to achieve this......

Ink your image. I am using Rubbernecker's Wire Grid Panel Sku:573 and inking it with Stampin' up River Rock........

Using a baby wipe, randomly remove some ink.....

Stamp your card stock.....

Voila.....

I stamped  the "thinking of you" sentiment from Rubbernecker's Best Wishes Set sku:600 in Memento Tuxedo Black.

On a personal note.....
I just came back from  British Columbia. I am so thrilled that my brother and his family have moved here to Lacombe!! These are some photos of my travel mates and some sights along the way for those of you that have never been through the B.C. mountains or Jasper National Park in Alberta.....

Jasper National Park is one of the prettiest places I have ever scene. The colors of the water is second to none!

We followed the truck and trailer filled with all there worldly possessions, driving my SIL's car. What a fun trip!! Here is my travelling companions......

Easy Handy Bag Tutorial

I made it  home from my trip to B.C. to move my brother and his family to Alberta, YIPPEE!!, and I have a project to share with you....


This was one of the make and takes for the  Pampered Crafter's Sorority Retreat. I had to giggle when I asked my friend Dodie aka Camera Girl what to call this bag, she replied that it is an "EASY HANDY BAG" since I use it for Easter baskets, Christmas gift Bags, Card holders, last minute birthday bags and just about anything.. You know she is right, it's dang handy!!!~  This is one of the favorite projects of the kids at school to make since it is so easy to make and we give them lots of candy to fill it with at Easter...hmmm could just be the candy.   Diane and I made one for each of the retreat attendees and filled them with all sorts of little things to pamper themselves with. Then they got to learn how to make it.


Here is the measurements and basic fold directions......

Score a 12 x 12 piece of card stock at 4 1/2" and 7 1/2" .  I went over the score lines with a pencil, only so you could see them better.......

Rotate 90 degrees and score at 3" and 9" ......

Fold all score lines very well.....

If you would like to stamp anything on your bag, now is the time to stamp. I didn't photograph this part, but I stamped Rubbernecker's Flourish #1 sku:611-01 with Memento Rich Cocoa...





Fold the outer center score lines to meet the score lines as shown below. 

I am supporting the inside corner with my finger so I can get a crisp clean score line.  It has to be exactly on the score line for it to fold together properly......

Burnish your fold with a bone folder. 

You will do this with all four corners.....

Use a strong adhesive to adhere the flap in,  I used Scor-Tape.....

Adhere the second flap ... do this on both ends of the bag...

This is what your bag sides should look like......

I made handles that measure 3/4" by 12 and strengthened them by adding a strip of ribbon over them with Scor-Tape.  I attached them with brads and because I am so anal about  brad backs showing I covered them with some circles that I punched out of scrap paper.


I added a punched border (EK Success Scrolls and Dots) and some brown grosgrain ribbon.  I die cut 2 Sizzix#2 Daisies and sponged them with Memento Summer Sky before layering them together. I added a dollar store rhinestone to the center and tucked some pins into it.  To finish it off I added some Frosted Lace Stickles to the tips of the flowers and the Flourish.

I was tickled to see that Jacquie had chosen a beach scene!  I love to have scene cards on hand for when I need a masculine card!!!  I created my scene by sponging Memento Summer Sky on the entire piece of Xpress Blend it card stock, then masking the sky off with a post it note so I could create the water. I sponged Memento Bahama Blue and added some water ripples. Kittie Kits Cause a Scene Sets are so versatile. The scenes you can create are endless!!  The Cattail Set SKU: 650-14 was the perfect compliment to my little beach scene.
