Santa's Clean!

Here is a clean and simple Christmas card using  Impression Obsession's Santa - D4190 and  Impression Obsession's Believe - B3504.  This Santa is a quick stamp to color. Perfect since I am so far behind in my Christmas cards.

I used sketch #3  from CAS(E) This Sketch....

I die cut a partial circle using a Spellbinders Circle out of scrap designer paper.  Embossed the sentiment using Versamark and Silver Embossing Powder. Added a border cut from Impression Obsession's Border Duo #1 DIE017-V. Added some stardust stickles from Rangers to the snowflakes and Santa's hat.  Cut Santa out and popped him up in the center  and called it done.  It just doesn't get any simpler and it requires no extra postage!

Full Moon

 Hello friends,

Today's card is for a friend that could really use a giggle.  We always had fun together on Halloween taking our kids tricker treating when they were little and had a tons of laughs doing it, so I always think of her at Halloween.

I colored this sassy witch that I purchased from Stamp it Crazy  up with Copics and cut her out.  I stamped, colored and cut out just the the bum and panties a second time and popped it up over a Spell binders circle that has been sponged with Memento Tangelo.  The broom, spiders and webs are from a Graphic 45 - Hampton Art set.  The broom was colored up quickly with Distress markers and cut out.  The fabulous orange ribbon is from May Arts and the black satin ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon Club. I added a ZVA Creative black rhinestone flourish that I cut up to fit my card. To finish it off I added Black Diamond Stickles to the spider bodies.
She is just to sassy! Her cheeks are a little rosy because She can feel the frosty autumn breeze. I freeze my butt off on Halloween  every year. Most years there is snow on the ground here.

The Haunted Hill with a Creepy Fun Treat

Hello Friends,

Tis' the season for spooky, my second favorite holiday!

I am getting so addicted to dies.  You can create a quick card and that seems to fit my schedule these days!  I started with Graphic 45 patterned paper and sponged Distress Inks-Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint and Dusty Concord.  The fabulous spooky die is Impression Obsession's Haunted Hill-DIE029-P.  I adhered some scrap orange card stock behind the pumpkin and the house and added some Black and white twine that I sponged Peeled Paint ink overI popped it up  on the patterned paper. It doesn't show up in the photo but I added some Black Diamond Stickles to the spiders and the Bats.  The sentiment is Impression Obsession's Happy Halloween- B5460.

This is what the trick or treaters are getting on Halloween Night. My friend Dodie and I spent a whole day last week filling gloves with treats. I saw a glove similar to this on pinterest and figured it would save me a lot of time this year. I added a tag that has been sponged with the same inks as the card and spritzed with water.  I added just a portion of the Haunted Hill Die. So I could get a few tags out of one die cut. I attached it with some ribbon.

How to do a Night Time Inspired Distress Ink Background

Hello Blogland Friends!

I am finally getting motivated to get going on my Christmas cards.

I wanted a background to showcase this gorgeous snowflake die cut. I was sitting on my deck a couple of nights ago looking at the sky, wondering how I could recreate it. This is how I did the background.......

1~ Sponge Rangers Faded Jeans Distress inks on white card stock and spritzing it with water. Heat set it with my embossing gun.

2~ Then I rubbed the ink pad directly on my craft sheet and misted water onto the ink.  I layed the card stock onto the misted ink on the craft sheet and heat set it.

The nice thing about this way of doing your background is if you don't like the way it looks you can repeat steps one and two until you are happy with it.

I die cut Impression Obsession's Snowflake Die-DIE024 with Silver Mirror Paper.  When I use intricate die cuts I always put a piece of wax paper in between the die and the card stock.  This makes it easier to remove the card stock.

I adhered the snowflake with a mini glue pen and added some bling. I see I missed one.

I embossed Impression Obsession's Merry Christmas-B4609 with Silver Embossing powder and added some bling to the holly.  I popped it up with pop dots over a Cuttlebug Snowflake Embossing folder. I don't know what the name of it is, my sweet friend Judy aka jadekay ran a bunch off for me on one of our visits. The metal and bling ribbon I bought at Joanne's in Seattle.

Lining Up Negative Punches and Dies Tutorial

Hello Friends!

I have a one layer card to share today using Rubbernecker's Butterfly Inchies 15517 and Rubbernecker's Discover Word Set

I used the negative of a 1" circle  to create the circles on my card.  This is what I do to line up the circles up exactly where I want them to be....... punch 5 circles out of a post it note close to the edge, being sure to have the sticky part on the circles.  Stick them on the card stock where you want them, this is the only way I could ever sponge a straight line and have them spaced evenly!

Next take a scrap piece of card stock and punch the same size circle out of it. I had a scrap that had a couple of circles punched out , but you only need one circle punched out.  Line it up over the post it note circle and remove the post it note through the open hole.

Sponge your ink over the hole. Ranger's Antique Linen Distress ink used here.

Your negative dies are exactly where you wanted them...

I stamped the butterflies and sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black, added some scoring and 1/8" Black Taffeta ribbon.

Simply Nicole

Hello Friends,

Today's card is just a little different for me.  I was inspired by this Impression Obsession stamp called Nicole -C4060.  I stamped Nicole  and You Are Spectacular -B3732 with Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed  them.  I thought right away about creating curly hair with a swirly embossing folder embossing folder.  I used  the flourish folder from the Sizzix Embossing Folder -Snowflake and Flourish Set.  Embossing the plain old regular way and then turning it at a 45 degree angle and partially embossing the top.

I colored her up with Prisma Colored Pencils and Gamsol (photo blue and blush pink).  Rounded the corners, added a pink taffeta bow, a strip of Recollections Rhinestones. Popped it up on a black card base. A very quick card.

Golden Wedding Anniversary & A Rubbernecker Sale

It's snowing her today....hope the sun is shining wherever you are!

I am getting completely addicted to using dies!! This was for my neighbor's 50th wedding anniversary.  Gold Mirror paper is so hard to photograph!!

I die cut the Memory Box La Rue Heart  and adhered it to a Memory Box Grand Heart using a mini glue pen.  The roses are My Favorite Things Rolled Roses with pearls added to the center. I peeled a layer of the backing off of the mirror paper to make it easier to roll...worked like a charm!  The greenery is Memory Box Tender Leaves and A Martha Stewart punch.  I popped this up with pop dots over a white panel that has been dry embossed with a Swirly  Sizzix Texture plate. Some white lace and ribbon from my stash and a ZVA Creative Pearl Flourish that has been cut into pieces to work for my card. The love birds in the corner are Memory Box Nested Birds and they are perched using pop dots  on a Memory Box Attic Key.

Lots of dimension...

Impression Obsession Party Time Challenge

The challenge this week at Impression Obsession is "Party Time".  The only parties I seem to go to these days are birthday parties and Musical Theatre parties where there is always cupcakes.  I stamped  Surprise Cupcake - D8443  in Memento Tuxedo Black on Classic Crest card stock and colored it with Prisma Colored Pencils and cut it out. I wanted to give it more dimension so,  I stamped only the loopy part of the bow 2 more time on scrap paper. I cut the whole bow out and glue it straight to the image and then only 3 loops and glued the bottom edge down to the image and popped the top up with a pop dot. I then did the same with the cupcake wrapper, adhering it directly on the image.  I think this is the prettiest cupcake stamp ever!

I popped it over a strip of card stock that I die cut both sides with Impression Obsession's Border Duo 2 -Die018-V and added a piece of American Crafts Lip Gloss Crushed Velvet.  The sentiment is  Sweet Wishes B8563  inked with Gathered Twig Distress Ink and I added some left over Rhinestones from yesterday's card. the embossing folder is Sizzix Dots. I used Splitcoaststampers Sketch 405 , a sweet and simple layoutThese are the only kinds of cupcakes I should be having since my friend told me yesterday that I was getting "fluffy".  Made me smile!

Thanks for popping by and have a fabulous weekend!

Two Part Harmony And A Winner

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends!!

Blog candy winner is announced at the bottom of this post.

I promised myself I was going to use the things in my craft room that I hoard and gathers dust!  My Bucket full of House Mouse Stamps fit that category- big time!!!  I stamped these sweet little guys in Memento Tuxedo black and colored them up with Prisma Colored Pencils and Gamsol.  I masked the image and sponged a little Scattered Straw behind them. The image was done using a Spellbinders Lacey Oval and threading some Taffeta ribbon through the loops. A few Dollar Store Amber Rhinestones added to the loops as well.

I used the current Mojo Monday Sketch -  MOJO261.

I added 3 memory Box Lorelai Leaf Die cuts  for the Splitcoaststampers WT395- What are the Odds and an Impression Obsession Bird Die in the top corner.  The background is Impression Obsession ~CAC-029 Music  stamped in Weathered Wood Distress ink.  The edges were sponged with Scattered Straw and then Gathered Twigs. I really like the look of these 3 colors blended together!

One For The Boys

Hello Blogland Friends!

I needed a card for my neighbour.  We fish together, so this Rubbernecker stamp is perfect for him. Yes, the men like to TRY and leave us women at home because we always catch more fish than they do.  This image looks like my husband and my neighbour morphed together. So yes, this is the perfect stamp for him. Hope it makes him laugh as much as it does me!!

I kept this card as clean and simple as I possibly could as to fit the personality of the recipient. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it with Copics.  I added a a little bit of Black Spica Pen to the fish and the belt then clear embossed the fish to make them pop.  I masked the image and used the smallest of the Memory Box Clouds die to create my clouds. I die cut the image with a Spellbinders Curved Rectangle.  Then using this THIS TUTORIAL to create a extra layer from your dies, I cut one out of Artichoke paper and popped the image up over it. Then mounted it over a Wood Grain Kraft card base.

Halloween Peeps Treats

Hello blog friends!

Here is a quick Halloween craft that I did with my little niece.  She painted the lid of a small mason jar black. We punched a circle from scrap orange patterned paper and put it on the lid.  Filled the jar with Pumpkin Peeps. We sponged Memento Tangelo ink on a small tag and stamped  a cat from Rubbernecker's Cat Set 15621 with Memento Tuxedo Black.
Then layered it over a larger tag with pop dots.  I pulled out a purple eyelet, something I haven't used in eons, and attached it to the jar with some raffia.  We didn't want to make this a scary halloween project since my niece is only 3 years old. A quick and easy halloween craft for the kids! Little Stella had a hoot and couldn't wait to give it away as a present~Proud as Punch!
