Hello friends!

Today's card is a Hannah Lynn digital image called Cali Girl.  I can almost smell the ocean breeze when I look at this girl. She is all colored up with Copics.  She was pretty fun to color!!

I am an avid hoarder and save just about anything I might be able to use on a project. Yeah, it has been suggested that I need help before. However, I only hoard in my craft room so I think I should be okay~giggle  This was an old piece of a necklace from way back when my kids were young enough to still like junk jewelery.  It was pretty tarnished so I used my Memento Rosebud reinker and mixed it with Tsukineko Frost White All-Purpose Ink and dabbed it on the butterfly with a sponge dauber.

Boobie Love

Hello Friends!

This awesome image is a freebie digi image called Boobie Love from Saturated Canary.   Thank you for your generosity Saturated Canary!!   I have never done a digi before because I have been told that you need a laser printer and I have an inkjet printer.  I really wanted to color her and out of desperation tried heat setting it with my embossing gun.  I tried to color the flower and there was a bit of bleeding, so I heat set it again, really well! Well happy day!  It worked and there was no bleeding when I colored  with my Copics what so ever.  Yippee!!!  Anyways... I have been collecting this line of stamps and coloring up a storm with them, so you will be seeing more of these images.

I needed to make a really special card for the principal of our school who is fighting like a girl against breast cancer.  This image looks a lot like her, spunky and cute!

Copic colors used......

Memento Pearlized Poppies Tutorial

Hello friends!!

A very dear friend of mine challenged me to see how many different ways I could use Tsukineko Frost White All-Purpose Ink and well I never back down from a challenge.  I am As far as I know it's origin of use is fabric painting, so of course I wanted try something different with it other than using it for fabric or creating a misting spray, so here is what I did....

I die cut a Memory Box Prim Poppy out of card stock and painted the blossoms with some All-Purpose-Ink. The blossoms are looking all pretty and pearly now......

I heat set it to speed up the drying time even though this is a fast drying ink......

I scribbled some Memento Bahama Blue onto  a piece of plastic and sprayed it with rubbing alcohol....

This thinned the color of the ink and it seemed more blendable and a tad translucent.

I painted the blossoms with it, then decided that it needed some Memento Teal Zeal along the top edge of the blossom for contrast.....

Then I colored the stems directly with a Memento Bamboo Leaves marker.......

Easy Peasy, Quick and Easy!
I stamped Impression Obsession - Ordinary Things D7519 with Versamark and clear embossed it.  Memento Bamboo Leaves and Cantaloupe ink was sponged over it.  The Impression Obsession Birds DIE003-A has had a bit of Memento Bamboo Leaves sponged and Frost White All-Purpose Ink sponged over the belly.

Part of a ZVA flourish and some ribbon from Celebrate-it were added and the window was cut from a Spellbinders.

The inside of the card was prettied up too.....

A Wild Flower For You

Hello Friends!

This pretty Wildflower -D8998 was stamped with Memento Tuxedo black and colored up with Copics...
Petals~RV63, RV69,RV99
Stem~YG11,YG63, YG67

I stamped Sweet Beautiful You - B13114 in Memento Rich Cocoa and sponged  the edges with Adirondack Wild Plum.  I added some leaves using the Vine DIE051-B and sponged them with Memento Bamboo Leaves.

I just couldn't find a ribbon to match the Daisy Petals in my stash, so I used my Copic Airbrush System and colored some white satin Ribbon with an RV63 Copic Marker.

Added a rhinestone flourish, some dry embossing and to finish it off I spray the white background panels with homemade Frost All Purpose Ink Spray to finish it off.

International Uptown Girls And A Winner

Hello Friends!

My very sweet young friend Ashten and her friend Katie are off to England to do good in the world for a few months.  This is the card I made for Ashten.  This Stamping Bella image called Uptown Girl Molly Takes A Detour was perfect for the occasion.  She was clear embossed with Tsukineko Versafine Vintage Sepia  and Colored with Copics.

Colors used are....
Skin~E50, E51, E53, R20
Hair~E51, E53, E57, E47
Dress and leaves~G40, G43, G46
Suitcases~E70, E74, E77
Journal and Tag~E40
Flowers~BV00, BV02, BV04

Sponged with Memento Desert Sand and Rich Cocoa while still in the die.  Popped up over An A2 Filligree Spellbinders from the Amazing Paper Grace line that has had some green Satin Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon threaded through it.
A little glitter in the center of the flowers from the JustRite True Friends Vintage Labels Four Set. Then the the whole card was sprayed with homemade Tsukineko Frost White Shimmer Spray using All Purpose Ink and Rubbing alcohol.  It is very hard to photograph and capture the shimmer but it is has a pretty soft shimmer to it.  Of course I had to add some rhinestones.

Ashten and Katie came over to make a quick  and simple journal before they left yesterday on their adventure.

We used the same image and die cuts as the card for the focal point and Hero Arts International Skyline along the bottom.  I did mine in Kraft and stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa. At CHA in January I tried a fabulous product that I had never tried before called Goosebumps Clear Texture Spray by Tsukineko at the Imagine Crafts Booth.  I am so glad I got myself a bottle!  I sprayed it on the cover of the journal after stamping and sponged rich Cocoa ink over it and what a texture it is!  I love the feel  and look of the cover after spraying!  It resists the ink and has given it a worn look. Love this new to me product!!  We punched a scalloped edge on the spine and added more rhinestones.
Here is Ashten and Katie with their journals. They used Versafine Black Onyx and Homemade Frost White All Purpose Ink Spray on theirs. I do wish photographs could capture the shimmer but my photography skills are lacking greatly!  Wishing you girls a happy and safe adventure while you are out saving the world!!!

On another note......
Today is the day for the blog candy winner.....

Ellen, thanks so much for this great tutorial! I just LOVE all the IO dies (and stamps too) and it's great to see what you can do with the butterfly die and that ink. Made a beautiful and lovely card.
I follow you through my Blog Dashboard (um...think that's different than Google Reader but actually don't know for sure).

You Are So Amazing

Hello Friends!.

I promised myself that I would try and use all the fabulous stamps that have never seen ink, so I finally inked up this gorgeous vintage lady from the Hampton Arts Graphic 45 Ladies Diary 1C0190.  The sentiment is JustRite Amazing Paper Grace - Just The Right Words. I used the layout for this weeks Freshly Made Sketch FMS81.

She was embossed with Tsukineko Versafine Black Onyx and colored up with Copics and die cut and popped up with Spellbinders Majestic Elements Opulent Ovals.

 Copic Colors used~
Skin~E000, E00, E34, R20
Hat and Dress~BG11, BG32, BG72, Y23, Y26, Y28
Background~E41, E42

All the papers have been lightly sponged with Memento Desert Sand and Memento Teal Zeal and the patterned paper from Papertrey Ink has been pierced along the edges.   Embellished with  Maya Road Pleated Ribbon and  heart pin, then finished off with some Swarovski Crystals since this card is for someone special.

Before die cutting the black Opulent Oval for the focal image on the front of my card,  I made sure the card stock was the same size to use as a mat for the inside.  That way you can use the negative die cut and save paper and money in the process.

All-Purpose Ink, Blog Candy And A Tutorial

Hello Friends!

I received a few emails over the weekend with lots of questions about how to use the Tsukineko Frost White All-Purpose Ink.  Cathy asked if I would do a video, however I am tech challenged so here is a pictorial for you.  Using All-Purpose Ink is such a quick and simple way to add shimmer quickly with no fuss or mess and you can make cheap paper look like a million bucks! This is only one way of using this product.  It can also be used on other porous surfaces such as wood, fabric, leather and more. This card is very shimmery in real life but it was all photographed  in the middle of the night with no natural lighting.

I die cut 2 Impression Obsession Fancy Butterfly DIE059-N twice, one in black and once in cream. reserving the left overs pieces for another project.   I sponged Memento Danube Blue ink on the solid butterfly.

I rubbed some Memento Bamboo Leaves directly  on a craft sheet  and picked the ink up with a sponge dauber.

I sponged the ink onto the die cut.

Using a Tsukineko Brushstix  I added some Memento Lulu Lavender ink in a few spots.

Using a sponge dauber I put a thin coat of All-Purpose Ink over it. This dries really quickly. Then  layered the  the black detailed die cut over top.

Here it is the same butterfly die cut using a different color palette.....

Starting with yellow cardstock just add memento Love Letter ink using a flicking motion, making sure to leave some yellow highlights.

Add a thin coat of All-Purpose Ink.

Adhere the top layer of the butterfly....

I also added some to the other elements of my card....

This  Impression Obsession Fancy Butterfly Die DIE059-N and Tsukineko All-Purpose Ink are two of my favorite crafting products.  So I have some to share with you.......

This blog candy is only for my bloglovin' and Networked Blogs followers.  Google friend connect is going away July 1st.  If you would like a chance to win these for yourself just leave me a comment in this post and let me know how you follow me..  I will draw a name Monday April 15th using Random Org Generator.  Good Luck!!
