Impression Obsession DT Thursday

Hello Friends!

Welcome to Impression Obsession DT Thursday!!

I am so tired of snow and am really feeling the need for sunshine and happiness cards, so here is a cheerful card that incorporates a few simple techniques.

Here is how to make this card........

1~Stamp Impression Obsession's Sun Circle E14123 with Memento Dandelion ink. I use my Mini Mount for perfectly stamped images.  Punch out the sun with a 2 1/4" circle punch.

2~Sponge around the edge of the circle with Memento Cantaloupe ink with an Ink Dauber.

3~Using an Ink Dauber sponge around the edges of a 4" x 5 1/4" mat and a  2 1/2" circle with Memento Cantaloupe ink  and set aside.
.

4~Rub the one side of an embossing folder with Memento Dandelion ink and insert a 3 3/4" x 5' piece of card stock and run it through your machine.

5~Using a Sponge Dauber ink the raised edges of your embossed panel with Memento Cantaloupe ink.

6~ Cut scraps of ribbon and adhere.

7~On a 1 1/8" x 2 1/2" piece of card stock stamp Impression Obsession's My Sunshine B14127 with Versafine Onyx Black and emboss with Imagine Crafts Clear Embossing Powder. Round the corners of the sentiment and sponge the edges with Memento Dandelion ink.

8~Add some ribbon,  a pretty scalloped border ~Impression Obsession's Border Duo 2 Die Set DIE018-V  and a rhinestone flourish.  Pop you sentiment up and assemble your card on a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card base and a 5 1/4  x 4 orange mat.

I hope the sun is shining wherever you are!!  Thanks for stopping by!

On to my card.....

I can't really say that I have a favorite technique but I am on a die cut kick! I just can't stop playing with my IO dies.  I do love to color as well, I find it so relaxing, no matter what the medium is.  So today's card incorporates both.

I stamped Budding Rose Stem F9224 3 times with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them with Copics then hand cut them out. They were adorned with Large Bow DIE063-I and a self adhesive pearl button. Parts of the roses were popped up for some added dimension and adhered over a embossed layer with part of a Square Shaker Frame DIE002-Z  adhered to it. Mother's Day C9270 was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and embossed with Imagine Crafts Clear Embossing Powder. Under the sentiment panel I added a pretty border with Border Duo 1 Set DIE017-V .

 Copics Used~R20-22-2427, G21-24-28

I hope you get a chance to play along in the IO challenge!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Metal Heart Tutorial

Here is how to create this Metal Heart.

1~ Peel the protective blue cover off of a Sheet Metal Square. Die Cut a Spellbinders Classic Heart.

2~Ink your Heart with StazOn Blazing Red.

3~ Dab On Clear GlazOn with an Ink Blusher and let dry.  This allows you to add another layer of color without the colors muddying.

4~ Emboss it with your choice of embossing folder.  I used Sizzix Paisley Palooza.

5~ Using An Ink Blusher dab on Jet Black StazOn around the edges.

6~Punch a hole in the center and add a brad. You now have a beautiful handmade embellishment for your card.

Stamp Wish Hope Dream L14122 with Stazon Opaque Cotton White  and assemble your card.

Mother of Pearl Heart Tutorial

Hello Friends!

Hearts aren't just for Valentine's Day. Any day is great for telling someone you love them. So here is a little tutorial to show you how to create a Mother of Pearl Heart .....

1~Spray a cream colored piece of card stock with Tsukineko Cherry Blossom Antiquing Solution.  Let dry.

2~Using an Ink Blusher pounce on 72 Frost White All-Purpose Ink randomly.  Pouncing some spots heavier than others.  Let Dry.

3~Stamp Impression Obsession's Victorian Heart D8654 with Memento Luxe Tuxedo Black.

4~Heat emboss with Imagine Crafts Clear Embossing Powder.

5~Color parts of the image with Memento Markers.

6~Wipe over the image with paper towel to remove excess ink.  A lot will come off because of the resist of the embossing and the All-Purpose Ink.  This is good since we are going for a aged look.

7~Stamp Versamark directly on the image, covering the entire image. Heat Emboss it with Imagine Craft Clear Embossing Powder.

8~ Cut out your embossed image.

9~Ink the edges of a dry embossed cream colored piece of card stock with a Jumbo Dauber using Memento Angel Pink and Rose Bud Ink.

10~ Do the same as step #9 with a 2 1/2" by 2 1/2" piece of  cream card stock.

11~I wanted my ribbon to match!  I used a Jumbo Dauber and sponged direct to the ribbon with Memento Rose Bud Ink.

12~ Assemble your card. I added some lace, ribbons, adhesive pearls and a couple of Maya Road Heart Pins.

Thanks For stopping by and have a fabulous day!
